APPLE EXCLUDED THE HOME BUTTON IN THE NEW IPAD PRO

APPLE EXCLUDED NEW IPAD PRO

Apple unveiled the new iPad with no home button and lightning port on it. Removing the one ubiquitous feature from its new line of iPad devices is a smart thought to give a whole screen to use it. The new design is meant to make room for a bigger and more compelling display.

Without a home button and its built-in fingerprint reader the users must log in with Apple’s Face ID facial scanning technology. But unlike phones, the Face ID on the new iPad works with the device turned sideways or upside down. And instead of Apple’s proprietary lightning port, the new models have an industry-standard USB-C port. Maximum storage capacity is lifted up to 1 TB. And Apple removed the standard headphone jack, as it did with the iPhone several years ago.

SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES

It has a new A12X Bionic chip with an 8-core CPU and 7-core GPU. These faster models of iPad Pro and iPad Air has two different screen sizes: 11-inch and 12.9-inch. The most obvious physical change is that there’s no Home button which makes the screens look larger. Despite the new iPads being roughly the same size as last year’s editions, it’s not an OLED panel. But instead uses the ‘Liquid Retina’ LCD display seen in the iPhone XR which is commonly known. It comes with Apple’s much-hyped ProMotion technology which delivers up to 120Hz for fluid scrolling, greater responsiveness and smoother motion content. With ProMotion, Apple Pencil is even more responsive with an industry-best, 20-millisecond latency for even more fluid and natural drawing. The ProMotion also improves display quality and reduces power consumption by automatically adjusting the display to match the movement of the content.

FACE ID

Face ID, Touch ID was brought about in some measure by acquisition and represented improvements on existing modes of biometric recognition Indeed. The switch from Touch ID to Face ID is what people are talking about, which often bets big deal of doing things (in the metal case and the biometric authentication). Whereas others sacrifice usability to preserve choice. Apple is willing to hold off on features until it can be implemented with the right user experience for the security concerns.

Face ID also offers near-instant recognition that failed only once in many dozens of unlocking attempts in the first few hours with the iPhone X only not in the iPad series. Unlike Samsung’s iris scanning in the S8 and Note 8, it has no problem with glasses. Also, Face ID works regardless of how you grip the phone as long as it is in portrait orientation. Apple has made Face ID that requires open eyes by default. And it seems to hold up pretty well going head-to-head. The removal of the Home button requires some behavioral changes for veteran iPad Pro users.
